Miss World Kenya
2020 - 2021
Based in Nairobi, Kenya
Sector: Arts and Culture
Reach: Continental
Our Task: Sponsorship & Event Management

Ashleys Kenya LTD was awarded the prestigious pageant franchise in 2002. 17 years, later Ashleys Kenya contracted LEA to work on improving the profile of the event to match other pageants associated with Miss World; the oldest-running international beauty pageant. Over the years, Ashleys Kenya Ltd together with other sponsors has conducted successful pageants to find a Kenyan representative for Miss World. The 2021 edition was special because it came at a time when the world was starting to make gains against the coronavirus. In the same year, as the world and Kenya commemorated the 10th anniversary of Nobel Peace Laureate Prof Wangari Maathai death, Miss World Kenya honored her memory through an internal restructure that saw the organization go green. These elements influenced the event's format and positioning.
LEA produced a hybrid experience; an event that included both a reality TV show and a virtual final event. Leading up to the pageant week, the customary two week bootcamp took place in Nairobi. The bootcamp was a key asset in our sponsorship strategy as it allowed us to approach sponsors and demonstrate value which was in the bootcamp’s program. For instance, the first week of the bootcamp focused on financial literacy for women; this gave Safaricom PLC a compelling reason to partner with the event. Over a period of 5 months, LEA was able to sign up 20 sponsors for the success of Miss World Kenya 2021.
