The annual Chairman's Prize tournament was held at Sigona Golf Club to mark the end of outgoing chairperson Mr. Peter Kiguru's term. LEA Client Services Limited was the Sponsorship, Fundraising and Event managers of the Chairman's prize.
As is customary, the immediate outgoing Chairman hosted the Chairman's Prize to give caddies, professional, and amateur golfers a stage to play on and to give brands a chance to connect with their premium customers as he marked the end of his tenure. Kiguru joined the KGU board back in 2015, initially serving as an executive, then as the union's treasurer, vice chairman, and finally as chairman.
"As we make room for new board to work at the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) offices for the upcoming year, I want to thank the competent board members who have been supportive and helped us achieve the objectives we set before taking office. Our goal has been to lead this union to international acclaim. When we took office, our goal was to support the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) and work with the government and stakeholders to find funding for golf-related events around the nation" Kiguru said
“I thank all of my friends, acquaintances, sponsors, and partners of KGU who support our cause. I also thank and welcome Mr. Njani Ndiritu, the incumbent chairman, and ask that partners continue to support the Kenya Golf Union's initiatives.” During the tournament, different categories were won and awarded. The sponsors of the Chairman's Prize tournament were Safaricom Plc, NCBA Bank, KCB Bank, Tononoka Group, Crown Paints, Melvins Tea, The Glenlivet, Siaya Park, Central Farmers Garage (CFG), Inter-Management Group Kenya-IMG, and Centaur Insurance Brokers.
