Lucky Angela, 22, a fresh-faced high-energy recent graduate has only worked 7 months at LEA and is already showing great promise after delivering big time for the success of the recently-held Golf & Grill 2022 event.
A lot has been said about 'Gen Z' - people born in the late 90s to early 2010s. You will find more than enough think-pieces about 'kids these days'; a generation stereotyped as lazy, self-entitled, and less resilient. This isn't one of those. As a matter of fact, here we like Gen Z. They keep the office young, open-minded and give us a new perspective on life as we know it. And as a group of people entering the workforce after facing a biblical-level pandemic, economic disruption, high cost of living, and an almost-world-war, we have A LOT to admire.
Anyway.
This post is about Lucky Angela who graduated from KCA University with a diploma in Business Management only last November and after going through that phase every Kenyan does, she joined LEA as an administrative assistant. Here is what you should know at LEA, no one holds a support role. Every employee is involved in the company's core business and plays an integral role. This wasn't lost on Lucky.
Two months ago when the idea of partnering with Mwanaume Ni Effort to raise money for our client Imarika Foundation was conceptualized, Lucky was ready, boots on the ground. And when the rest of the team was getting lost in strategy, sponsorship, and event production, she picked up the challenging task of finding alternative revenue lines for the event.
We cannot talk about Golf & Grill 2022 without mentioning the food vending, small business exhibition, and Lucky Dip (apt!) activities. Migaa came alive with energy from early in the morning as partner restaurants fired up their grills and breakfast cooking stations for golfers as we all waited for the afternoon festivities. There was also a display of beauty products, sports accessories, and an art exhibition. The event village area came to life thanks to Lucky.
During her entry interview, Lucky mentioned her interest in sales and has proactively started to build her portfolio. The entire LEA team is excited to see how fast and far her career develops!
Congratulations Lucky, we are very proud of you🙌
